Aesop Rock

Aesop Rock builds worlds out of stories, metaphors and sound. Across them, I hear him working out how to live with his past, his anxiety and himself.

The early music helped me interpret the world and develop my own perspective. The records, collaborations and individual songs since then keep showing me what he can create with his. Sometimes that means hearing him explain something about his life. Sometimes it means spending time in a world he imagined. His creativity has kept that relationship interesting, and the work keeps giving me reasons to return.
